We were delighted to be one of several venues across Thanet showing one of the fabulous banners made by various local groups (in our case Drapers Mill School) with Artist Jessica Voorsanger for POW 2019. These banners were made for the procession Still We Rise – named after the famous Maya Angelou poem – which marked the start of this year’s festival. Still We Rise is a reprise of the national Suffragette Procession which took place in June 2018, marking the centenary of some women gaining the vote.
